Out of the mouths of babes...
Confession time: I love Diet Coke. I love it's bubbly, carbonated, fizzy cola-ish deliciousness. And if you happen to throw in a little lime or cherry--oh, hold me back! I've developed a habit of picking one up whenever I'm running errands, and my girls have noticed.After I grabbed another life-giving elixir today, Hazel started to let me have it. "Mom," she said, "don't you think that is bad for you? You get one all the time, you should drink plain healthy water."
Gulp.
Yes, I should. She had me pretty pegged, alright. Then she said the clincher.
"Sometimes teachers are moms, and sometimes teachers are little kids."

oohh, Diet coke is my weakness, er fix..er adult beverage of choice. I have one for breakfast! My kids do notice too, and comment. My response is that yes, I shouldn't drink alot-and we should all drink more water, but I am a grown up and my body is not growing anymore so I have a little more leeway regarding what kinds of nutritionless drinks I have. Um, so far they are buying it. I actually have a picture on my blog of me holding a giant diet coke in Denver after flying back from Ireland, where...gasp!-the diet coke did not taste right, or good. A definite ordeal in the deep, dark, place known as Europe.
